Henri, a surf instructor at LAGO Mons, shares his experience with the comprehensive training process with the WaveSurfer Training Academy:
"The training wasn't difficult because we had a very good instructor. He spent two full days here with us to train us, and then it was up to us to practice and ensure we were ready to welcome customers."
This hands-on guidance ensured that the staff was well-prepared to provide a safe experience to all visitors.
Stephanie, Marketing Manager at LAGO Mons, explains how the WaveSurfer fits into the overall experience:
"Here we are at the Lago Mons pool, an aquatic center. During the summer we also have a WaveSurfer outdoor wave called LagoSurf, which is part of our outdoor offerings.
The WaveSurfer is connected to the heated outside pool, so the same water circulates through both the outdoor pool and the WaveSurfer. It has a continuously rotating artificial wave on which you can bodyboard and stand-up surf."
Stephanie continues, highlighting the unique appeal of the simulated surfing machine:
"Customers are very happy, because for them it is an attraction that you can't do everywhere and it's super original. Plus, the setting here is very beautiful, making it very attractive.
Our manager, Eric Rousseau, wanted to integrate the WaveSurfer into our offerings because he wanted a playful attraction that was at the same time super fun, that complemented the aquatic center and could be enjoyed outdoors in the sun during the summer."
Stephanie adds how the surf attraction has also opened new opportunities for engaging with younger visitors.
"With the WaveSurfer, we offer summer courses for children aged 9 to 16. It's great. They spend three hours in the mornings solely focused on surfing.
On top of that, we have a range of activities with entertainers available all summer long. We also offer activities like ‘Wave King’, where customers can participate in small competitions and win prizes."
Stephanie also confirms that the relationship between LAGO Mons and WaveSurfer has been nothing short of exceptional.
"We have a very good relationship with WaveSurfer. Karel and Inge are always available when we need them. They are very responsive. Karel's machine is incredibly functional and hardly ever breaks down, so we never have any problems with it. So, on that score, we're absolutely satisfied."
Reflecting on the impact of the artificial surf machine over the past few years, Stephanie notes,
"The WaveSurfer has been up and running for four summers now, and it's fair to say that our customer base has changed. The offer is more attractive, so customers come from further away or stay longer because there are more fun attractions."
The success of the WaveSurfer at LAGO Mons speaks volumes about its appeal, reliability, and the lasting impression it leaves on all who experience it.
